Installing Ubuntu 22.04 on Dell Precision T1700 with RAID1

Greetings, I have a Dell Precision T1700 with RAID1 that previously ran Ubuntu 20.04, which was upgraded from 18.04. I attempted an upgrade to 22.04, which failed. I tried a clean install after backing up my home directory. The clean install also failed. The installation appears to run successfully, but on reboot, a message is displayed: “Gave up waiting for root file system device: Common problems…Alert! UUID=xxxxx-xxxlxxx-xxxxxxxxxx does not exist… dropping to a shell.”
Is there a command line installation I can use that will help me bypass this issue? I’d prefer to stick to Ubuntu but will try a different distro if necessary as this is my main workstation
TIA, Steve
