"open to LAN" in Minecraft can't be found by others in home

OpenSuse Leap 15.2 w/KDE GUI
I’ve spent hours searching for an answer so I thought I would try this community…
The issue is when I’m playing Minecraft as single player and “Open to LAN” for multiplayer in our home, others can’t detect my LAN server. If another home user starts a multiplayer game on a Windows computer, Minecraft running on OpenSuse will detect and join with no problems.

any suggestions is very much appreciated?

Extra info… I’m running the vanilla game (not the server software), latest version, ports 25565/TCP and 4445/UDP are open in FirewallD, all home computers are on same router (i.e. 192.168.1.xxx).

hi djfunk
that’s not a lot of information.
What kind of modem are you using?
Did you assign a static ip to the pc hosting the server?
Did you try to direct connect the player-computer to the server-host-computer via the minecraft interface?
Do you see any messages or errors in the server console when the server is running?
